Welcome to the new home of the Oregon California & Eastern Railroad Restoration Group

What we are proposing is the restoration of the Oregon California & Eastern Railroad. This line was abandoned in the late 90's. This is probably the best opportunity to start an excursion line in Southern Oregon. This line now owned by the State of Oregon has been turned into a very successful trail system. We do not want to disrupt the trail system so we propose to move the trail a safe distance from the rail line. With the rail line appearing to have a minimum of 100 feet of right away there should not be a problem of relocating the trail.

Well right now not much is going on. It is all web work right now contacting possible volunteers and the people who are involved with the trail. So far I have contacted Weyerhaeuser about the history of the line and any donations of pictures, paperwork, or equipment they might have. I also have contacted the Oregon Parks Department about the restoration. I also have contacted the Nature Conservancy about the right away that runs thru the Sycan marsh. I have only contacted these people this last week so the replies will hopefully come next week. If the Parks Department agrees to look into the possibility of the restoration that will be a good first step. If they aren't sure I'm going to have to find away to help them see that this will work for the benefit of all involved.

I would like to apoligie to all who I have offended by the use of there photos of the OC&E line. I anew to all of this. I don't understand why this is so important. If they dont want people using there photos why let them be put up? Like I said I am new to all of this. Thank you for letting me know that I can't use the photos that they let some one else is usiong on there web site. If there is a copy right on the photos they should be labled as such, with the name of the person taking the picture and a copy right seal. I ahve been given permission to use pictures off of Trainweb that I have listed in my LINKS page. However to avoid this problem again I will just list links to the pics. That way you can look at them anyway. So again I don't understand. Have a good spring.

This is a major undertaking that we have started. What we need right now is your support. The more people that we can get to help out and spread the work of this project the better. Also we will be needing any information on any equipment, pictures, or paperwork that we could get our hands on. We are also looking for financial support from the Klamath Falls area.
